From this course, I learned that it is very important to slow down and take my time to really pay attention to the details and understand each part of the assignment objectives. At times, I found myself reading the instructions out loud to make sure that I was getting all the details. Professor Wu was extremely helpful through the course because he was always available to help when needed. It was really refreshing to have a Professor who was 100% supportive and provided multiple opportunities to earn the best accomplishment possible (as long as you wanted it for yourself)!
This last phase of IS101 was all about PowerPoint. It was definitely the quickest and easiest phase of them all. We learned all about the best practices to create, design, and present a PowerPoint slideshow. One thing that was completely new to me was from 6.5.1 - Slide Masters. I had no idea that there was a feature that allowed you to customize the layout of the slides that would be used as a template for all other slides you added to the presentation. I have not used it yet, but I can definitely see the benefit of how this feature would save a lot of time when creating slideshows. While we did create slideshows to present earlier in this course (some images from mine are attached to this post), I don't think slide masters would have been very helpful because it was so short. I see this really only benefitting longer slideshows.
All of the course material and requirements are completed (including my newly earned PowerPoint certification). Now I get to focus on my extra accomplishments, like getting my Expert Word and Excel certifications... wish me luck!
